Speaking to Brunei’s Foreign Minister Prince Abdul Mateen, Foreign Minister Trung proposed that Vietnam and Brunei strengthen high-level exchanges and execute the Plan of Action for the Implementation of the Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and Brunei for 2023-2027.
Prince Abdul Mateen spoke highly of Vietnam's achievements and said Brunei wishes to expand cooperation with Vietnam in trade, oil and gas, tourism, agriculture, education, and fisheries. The two agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the Halal industry.
During his meeting with Slovenia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tone Kajzer, FM Trung called on Slovenia to soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and help Vietnamese exports gain access to the Balkans, the Middle East and Southern Africa through the Port of Koper. The two sides agreed to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, renewable energy, and facilitate business access to their respective markets.
Speaking to Costa Rican Foreign Minister Manuel Tovar Rivera, FM Trung and FM Rivera agreed to promote trade, investment, and expand Vietnam-Costa Rica cooperation in climate change response, high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, and ecotourism. FM Rivera said Costa Rica considers Vietnam an important gateway to Southeast Asia and wishes to strengthen its relations with ASEAN.
At his meeting with the Maldives' Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam, FM Trung and FM Adam exchanged a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two foreign ministries. They also agreed to promote Vietnam-Maldives cooperation in trade, agriculture, tourism, maritime transport, air connectivity, and fisheries.
FM Adam proposed organizing more programs, projects, and exchanges between Vietnam and the Maldives to share their experience in agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure development.
At the meetings, the foreign ministers also agreed to strengthen coordination at multilateral forums, uphold multilateralism and respect for international law.
