Foreign tourists to Vietnam hit 1.5 million

(VOVWORLD) - Foreign arrivals to Vietnam have reached 1.5 million, up 5% compared to the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.

The ancient town of Hoi An in the central region is one of the most visted places in Vietnam.

Vietnam welcomed a 9.3% increase of foreign tourists compared to last December. Most are holidaymakers from Europe, America, and Oceana. Total tourism revenue in January is estimated at 2.4 billion USD.

The tourism sector is set to welcome 18 million foreign tourists this year and generate 30 billion USD in revenue.
