Over the first seven months of the year, amid growth of more than 28% in the country’s total import-export turnover, the fruit and vegetable sector made an important contribution to maintaining macroeconomic stability and sustaining Vietnam’s trade surplus.

The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association said fruit and vegetable exports to the EU totaled 214 million USD in the first six months of the year, up 32% from the same period last year. Processed products are experiencing remarkable growth, with passion fruit, potatoes and dragon fruit recording increases ranging from more than 30% to over 100%.

Germany, one of the EU's major markets, imported 28.24 million euros worth of processed fruit and vegetable from Vietnam during the first five months of 2026.
