(VOVworld)- Visiting National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on Monday evening met Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev and Chairman of the Russian State Duma Sergey Nayshkin. At his meeting with Medvedev, Hung said the Vietnamese legislative body will do its utmost to further the bilateral friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia. Chairman Hung urged that the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan be approved in the next 2 years to realize the goal of 7 billion USD in two-way trade turnover by 2015.

Chairman Nayshkin said Russia gives priority to strengthening ties with Vietnam on a par with their established strategic partnership.“Vietnam is a reliable partner of Russia and both countries have upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. The Russian Duma has 4 parties and all agree that Russia needs to develop and expand cooperative ties with Vietnam in all areas: economic, political and social. Today, we signed a cooperation agreement between the 2 legislative bodies, which will boost the relationship between the two countries", said Nayshkin.
During his visit, Hung also met President of the Russian Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov and President of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association Vladimir Buianov.
