The city continues to upgrade infrastructure, improve its business environment, and use special policies and incentives to attract new investment.
FDI inflows into Hai Phong rose 64 percent from a year earlier during the nine-month period. Industrial parks and economic zones remained the main destinations for foreign investment, drawing more than 3.3 billion USD, or nearly 91 percent of the city’s total FDI. Hai Phong’s seaports, transportation links, industrial parks, and investment incentives are helping attract new projects.
Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, deputy head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, said: "We hope that investment in the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone will grow in the coming years, turning the zone into a major hub for investment, innovation and high technology. This, in turn, will help unlock capital flows for the development of secondary enterprises, ensure more effective use of industrial park infrastructure and pave the way for new waves of investment."
