The Ministry of Industry and Trade on Tuesday announced the results of the 2025 Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Index, a nationwide assessment measuring how effectively localities implement FTAs. According to the report, the national average score was 21.66 points.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc said international economic integration must go beyond commitments on paper and be translated into tangible outcomes and measurable results. He emphasized that the FTA Index should serve as an important tool for managing and evaluating economic integration efforts.
“Each locality should integrate FTA implementation into its socio-economic development agenda and link it to the accountability of local leaders. Following the publication of the FTA Index, localities need to develop action plans, identify and resolve major bottlenecks, and connect FTA implementation with selective investment attraction, digital transformation, green transition, high-quality workforce development, and enhanced capacity for small and medium-sized enterprises,” said Mr. Tuc.
On the occasion, the Ministry of Industry and Trade launched the FTA Index online portal, index.fta.gov.vn, funded by the Australian Government.
As of December 31, 2025, the FTA Index survey covered more than 4,000 enterprises nationwide across a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, forestry and fisheries; mining; manufacturing and processing; and wholesale, retail, and motor vehicle repair services.
