The forum aimed to concretize the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57 dated December 22, 2024 on breakthrough development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and deliver the "100-day action plan to handle digital transformation bottlenecks" of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance.

For cooperatives, key data is information about members, raw material areas, seasons, production processes, output, quality, costs, customers and markets. Standardized data will help the Cooperative understand production capacity, control quality, reduce costs and make decisions that better reflect market needs. Data also provides the foundation for traceability, product transparency and better meeting market needs.

Cao Xuan Thu Van, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, said, "The digital transformation of cooperatives requires a clear roadmap focusing on three pillars: data, management, and markets—with data serving as a particularly valuable resource."

"This process must take place within a supportive ecosystem: the State establishes the necessary institutions, data infrastructure, and policies; the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance connects cooperatives with policies, technology, finance, and markets; and tech companies provide simple, user-friendly solutions tailored to different levels of need," Van added.

At the forum, experts, policymakers, cooperative representatives, and business leaders shared the view that instead of approaching digital transformation merely as a technology investment, the focus should be on addressing specific challenges cooperatives face—such as raw material area management, output control, traceability, order management, customer connectivity, and operational cost reduction.

They said support for digital transformation should be linked to post-investment outcomes, emphasizing measurable results such as cost savings, improved product quality, expanded customer bases, increased commodity value, and enhanced management capabilities.
