Bui Huyen Mai, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, said the city has organized a wide range of commemorative activities, including visits and gift presentations to policy beneficiaries, support for the renovation of gratitude houses, free health consultations and medical checkups, as well as incense-offering and candlelight ceremonies in all 126 communes and wards.
At the event, Hanoi authorities presented 130 restored portraits of fallen soldiers, along with 130 gift packages, to representatives of their families.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City held an incense-offering ceremony and a candlelight vigil at Hang Duong Cemetery in the Con Dao Special Zone.
Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, highlighted the city’s gratitude programs, including the Gratitude Fund, the construction of gratitude houses, savings-book support programs, care for Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and assistance for martyrs’ families. He underscored the city’s active participation in the nationwide 500-day campaign to search for, recover, and identify the remains of fallen soldiers.
Also on Saturday, an artistic tribute program titled “Stars of the Fatherland” was held in Con Dao, aiming to promote the values of peace and inspire patriotism and gratitude among younger generations.
