Notably, the number of newly licensed projects continued to rise sharply. In August alone, Hanoi granted investment certificates to 62 new projects with total registered capital of more than 46.7 million USD.

Science and technology led the way, accounting for more than 2.2 billion USD, or 60% of the city’s total FDI. It was followed by information and communications, real estate, and wholesale and retail.

Cumulative disbursed FDI exceeded 1.3 billion USD, up more than 25% year-on-year and reaching 82% of the full-year target.

The positive results put Hanoi on track to achieve its goal of attracting 4.5 billion USD in FDI this year.
