During a working visit to the Russia earlier this week, an inter-agency delegation led by Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Tran Duc Thang held working sessions in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. In Moscow on Thursday, Mr. Thang met with Dmitry Zverev, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia, and representatives from Russian Railways (RZD).

The Hanoi Party chief expressed his hope that the Russian Ministry of Transport and Russian partners will share their expertise in formulating policies and technical standards for urban railways and underground infrastructure, as well as to provide support in design, technology integration, training, and technology transfer.

Hanoi invited Russian enterprises to explore investment opportunities in metro lines outlined in the city's transport master plan for the 2030–2050 period.

Meeting with representatives from Russian Railways (RZD), the Hanoi Party Secretary expressed interest in Russian investment, policy consultancy, and assistance in establishing technical standards for an urban rail network that connects with the national railway system, as well as in the management and operation of railway lines.

In a meeting with Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov on Friday, the Saint Petersburg side expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with Hanoi in urban railways.
