Two plays received Gold Medals are "Studiousness" staged by the Hanoi Cheo Theatre, and "The Girl from Hanoi" staged by the Army Drama Theatre. 23 Gold Medals and 37 Silver Medals were awarded to individual performers.
The 10-day festival featured 15 professional arts troupes presenting 15 productions across six theatrical genres: spoken drama, cheo, tuong, cai luong, circus, and Nghe Tinh folk singing. It provided a platform for exchange among arts organizations from central agencies, Hanoi, the armed forces, and localities across Vietnam.
People’s Artist Le Tuan Cuong, Deputy Director in charge of the Vietnam National Theater of Traditional Arts, said “Although the participating troupes come here to compete, the most important thing is to preserve and promote the traditional values of the Vietnamese people. Representatives from the North, Central, and South have brought works of outstanding artistic quality, making this a very worthwhile event."
"I strongly support this initiative and hope the festival will be held more frequently, not only in Hanoi but also in other provinces and cities. Through cultural exchange, we can share and promote our national culture," he added.
