The 15 productions span various genres, including drama, chèo, tuồng, cải lương, circus, and folk opera. They explore diverse aspects of social life, celebrate Vietnam’s people and landscapes, and feature stories related to Hanoi’s history, culture, and people.

Speaking at a press briefing in Hanoi on Thursday, Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and head of the festival’s organizing committee, said: “For Hanoi, developing culture and the arts is not just about preserving and promoting traditional values, but also enriching people’s spiritual lives, inspiring creativity, and contributing to a civilized, modern capital city with a strong cultural identity. Theatre plays an important role in this process. The festival not only brings together high-quality productions but also creates more opportunities to bring theater closer to audiences.”

The biennial festival is held under the direction of the Hanoi People’s Committee.
