HCMC FDI tops 17 billion USD as city shifts investment focus

[VOVWORLD] - Ho Chi Minh City had attracted more than 17.2 billion USD in registered foreign direct investment (FDI) as of September 19, reaching 156.6% of its full-year target. The figure is expected to rise to 19 billion USD by year-end, according to the municipal Department of Finance.

The Can Gio International Transshipment Port and the AI Factory data center have secured more than 4.9 billion USD and 2 billion USD, respectively.

Ho Chi Minh City said priority is being given to projects in high technology, core technologies, research and development, and innovation, as well as projects that foster stronger linkages with domestic enterprises.
