Since entering Vietnam in 1991, Heineken has invested around 1 billion USD in the country. The group plans to invest a further 500 million USD over the next five to ten years.

According to van der Linden, Vietnam has a significantly larger market and higher per-capita beer consumption than other Southeast Asian markets. He also highlighted the country’s highly skilled workforce, particularly in manufacturing, as well as its stable business environment.

Heineken currently operates its Vung Tau brewery in Ho Chi Minh City, the company’s largest production facility in Vietnam. The brewery is now being expanded, with the aim of making it the largest beer production facility in Asia.
