The event, part of the Hue Festival 2026, promotes the image of Hue city as Vietnam’s culinary capital and a philosophy of living virtuously, in harmony with nature and the community.

Vegetarian cuisine is one of the three major culinary traditions of Hue, Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee, said.

“It holds great potential not only in spiritual and cultural terms, but also for tourism development. Within this tradition, vegetarian cuisine goes beyond simple enjoyment to become a distinctive cultural feature rich in humanistic values. Each dish reflects skill and sophistication in culinary art, while also conveying a message of harmony between humans and nature, guiding people toward a greener, healthier, and more sustainable way of life.”
