The village is where Ho Chi Minh lived and studied during his childhood. The event, from Thursday to Friday, features a lotus flower procession and offering ceremony dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh, an art performance, a naming ceremony to honor the “Ho” family name by ethnic communities in Hue city, and showcases of folk art and traditional cuisine.

“We’ve planned a number of activities for the festival to create a lively cultural atmosphere with a distinct Hue identity. Festival attendees will experience the traditional culture of Hue, and take part in a journey through memories, where the past and present come together in a meaningful way,” Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Hue Department of Culture and Sports said.

Duong No village, now part of Hue’s Duong No ward, is where Nguyen Sinh Cung, later known as Ho Chi Minh, spent part of his childhood and began his schooling. His early years were spent in a close-knit community with a traditional cultural environment.

Four Ho Chi Minh memorials in Duong No village have been preserved for more than a century by the local community. These include the house where he lived, the Duong No communal house, and Am Ba and Ben Da, two places he frequently visited.
