Interim President Delcy Rodriguez said the funds would be used to rebuild communities devastated by the disaster. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva confirmed the disbursement in a post on X.
According to National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez, the death toll has risen to 5,069, most of them in coastal areas. More than 16,700 people were injured, while over 20,000 residents remain displaced, living in overcrowded temporary shelters with limited access to clean water and sanitation.

[VOVWORLD] - The 124-member Vietnamese rescue delegation, who had completed their humanitarian mission in Venezuela, returned home early Saturday morning. They were later commended in a ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung in Hanoi.
