President Widodo’s visit takes place at a time when Vietnam–Indonesia strategic partnership has recorded new progress, following a visit to Indonesia by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong in August 2017. During President Widodo’s visit, the two sides will discuss ways to further bilateral ties.
