President Masoud Pezeshkian accused the US of “continued breaches of commitments” by maintaining what he called an "illegal" naval blockade of Iran's ports. "Breach of commitments, blockade, and threats are obstacles to genuine negotiations," Pezeshkian said.
In a post on X, Iran's Parliament Speaker and top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said the ceasefire only has meaning if the US stops violating its commitments and ends the blockade.
Sources in the region reported Wednesday that the aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77) has entered the Arabian Sea, increasing to 3 the number of US aircraft carriers deployed to the Middle East. Also deployed there are the USS Gerald R. Ford and the USS Abraham Lincoln.
