Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said in a an interview with the Austrian television channel ORF that Iran and the United States still exchange messages through mediators like Qatar and Pakistan. However, the Iranian official stated that Iran's top priority remains protecting its national sovereignty, rather than engaging in negotiations with uncertain prospects.
Middle Eastern media reported on Sunday that Iranian officials informed Pakistani mediators that Iran was ready to resume negotiations with the US to reach an agreement. The negotiation location could be Switzerland, Qatar, or Pakistan.
Regarding the negotiation process, Iran prioritizes resolving the Strait of Hormuz issue, releasing frozen assets, and finally, addressing Iran's nuclear program. The US and Iran halted all attacks against each other on the evening of July 24, after 13 consecutive days of fierce fighting.
