In a message posted on social media on Thursday Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian shared the signed copy of Islamabad MoU, a "historic document," which he said has ended the conflict between Iran and the US. It conveys a message of a strong Iran, where peace will be achieved on the basis of mutual respect. According to the Iranian leader, this is a significant step towards negotiating a lasting peace solution for the Middle East.

On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated that the MoU signed between Tehran and Washington opens opportunities to promote peace and cooperation among countries in the region.

US Vice President JD Vance on Thursday confirmed that June 18 was the first day of a 60-day negotiation period aimed at reaching an agreement with Iran, based on the signing date of the MoU and the time zones of the parties involved. "I would say the 60-day period officially started today," Vance told reporters at a White House briefing. "The final negotiations can set the terms of what comes afterwards," he said.

The US military ceased all enforcement of the naval blockade on Iranian ports and coastal areas. “Today, US forces lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas, in accordance with the President's direction. American forces are not impeding the transit of vessels to or from Iranian ports. All US military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased,” US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement posted on social media.
