In a post on X, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that under the agreement, Iran will immediately reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, while the US will lift its naval blockade.
Pakistan, with Qatari support, will host a ceremony in Switzerland on Friday to “commemorate this landmark event and commence with the technical level talks.”
Iran has not yet confirmed the announcement by the Pakistani Prime Minister. But Iranian media reported Wednesday that the Strait of Hormuz will be gradually reopened once the agreement with the US takes effect. Within 30 days, maritime traffic through this area will be restored to its pre-conflict level.
