The announcement by the Israeli Foreign Ministry came amid a global outcry over a video posted by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir showing him appearing to taunt bound flotilla activists.
On May 14, 50 ships departed from Turkey in an attempt to break Israel's blockade of Gaza. Israeli forces began intercepting the ships off the coast of Cyprus on Monday. 430 activists have been detained.
The latest aid convoy is the third attempt in a year to break the blockade on the besieged Palestinian territories, which have suffered severe shortages of food, water, medicine, and fuel since the Israeli-Hamas conflict began in October 2023.
