The 900,000 USD project, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has been implemented in 35 mountainous communes across Da Nang from October 2021 to May 2026.

After nearly five years, it has deployed “Treasure Hunting” initiative, which enables local communities to rediscover and identify valuable local products and resources. So far, around 750 products have been developed, ranging from textiles, beadwork, and basketry to agricultural and processed products.

A variety of new agricultural products have also been tested and promoted through tourism tours, hotels, resorts, souvenir shops, and clean-food stores, as well as at festivals and other events. In 2025, these products generated an average income of nearly 56,900 USD.

The Co Tu community-based tourism model in Nam Giang received an ASEAN award and has emerged as a successful model for sustainable local development. The project is now expected to be extended until March 2027.
