Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was asked to comment on a report in the New York Times which said the FBI and US Justice Department had tried unsuccessfully to recruit Russian aluminium tycoon Oleg Deripaska as an informant between 2014 and 2016.

Peskov said the US in recent years has been working crudely through its intelligence services to recruit Russian citizens by exerting moral and other pressure on them. He said this effort eloquently testifies Washington’s attempt to interfere in Russia’s internal affairs.
