She was welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Finance Minister Ngo Van Tuan, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, and Vietnam’s Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Chau Mai Anh.

Ahead of the visit, Ambassador Chau Mai Anh described it as an important milestone, reflecting Liechtenstein’s high regard for Vietnam and providing fresh momentum to deepen bilateral ties in a more substantive and effective manner.

The visit comes as Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) concluded negotiations on a free trade agreement in July 2026. The agreement is expected to provide an important framework for expanding Vietnam’s economic ties with Liechtenstein and other EFTA members, facilitating trade, investment and business connections.

According to the ambassador, the visit could also open up new areas of cooperation, particularly by connecting Liechtenstein businesses with Vietnamese partners in high-tech industries, precision engineering, automation, digital transformation and innovation.

Liechtenstein is a landlocked country in Central Europe, situated between Switzerland and Austria. It covers 160 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 40,000. The country is a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), alongside Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Liechtenstein reached approximately 9.8 million USD in 2025.
