This year's awards focus on products that embody Vietnamese ingenuity, said Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry of Science and Technology. The awards will foster all-encompassing digital transformation, accelerate AI application and smart manufacturing, and drive the mastery of core, foundational, and strategic technologies.
“For the first time, the awards feature a dedicated category for outstanding AI products. It aligns with the strategic goal of mastering AI technology—a technology that is rapidly and extensively permeating every sector and driving new growth. Focusing on AI encourages Vietnamese enterprises to develop high-value-added products, fosters the AI ecosystem, and boosts labor productivity and competitiveness. Vietnam now possesses enterprises capable of developing their own proprietary algorithms and Vietnamese-language data models, so we need a platform that matches this level of capability,” Mr. Lich added.
The eight award categories for 2026 include excellent digital technology products in industry and construction; agriculture, natural resources, and the environment; transportation, postal services, and logistics; education, healthcare, culture, and social affairs; finance, banking, commerce, and services; excellent digital technology products for overseas markets; excellent artificial intelligence products; and excellent potential digital technology products.
Over the course of six editions held between 2020 and 2025, the "Make in Viet Nam” awards have drawn nearly 1,500 entries, with 299 products receiving honors. Many winning products have seen widespread application, contributing to the resolution of socio-economic challenges, the expansion of domestic markets, and successful entry into international markets.
