In a statement, the Mexican Foreign Ministry admitted that Mexico has a significant problem with violence but rejects Trump’s claim that Mexico is the most dangerous country in the world. The Ministry insisted that the violence created in Mexico by illicit trafficking in drugs, weapons, and money will only end if the root causes –high demand for drugs in the US and production in Mexico – are addressed.
