He said the force would also coordinate with authorities in southern Laos and Cambodia to locate more than 100 sets of remains during the 2026-2027 dry season.
The military region recovered the remains of 390 fallen soldiers in Vietnam, six in Laos, and 35 in Cambodia during the first phase of the campaign, which ran from March 15 to November 1 this year.
During the 2025-2026 dry season, it recovered 481 sets of remains. By September 15, all five localities under its jurisdiction – Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Khanh Hoa – had completed sample collection at 416 war cemeteries.
