Beauty pageant forum Missology.org announced H’Hen Nie as the winner of the title on Monday, after she topped the shortlist of 10 beauty icons worldwide. H’Hen Nie is the first Vietnamese beauty and third in Asia to claim the title since it was initiated in 2004. Criteria included the nominees’ appearance, performance in a competition, and worldwide influence. Born 1992 in the Central Highlands, H’Hen Nie was also the first Miss Vietnam from an ethnic minority group and the first Vietnamese woman to be a top 5 finisher at a Miss Universe contest.
