All samples were sealed and packed in 144 specialized containers draped with the national flag. Upon arrival, officials and military personnel held a ceremony to receive the samples and pay tribute to the fallen soldiers.
In a message of remembrance, organizers expressed their deep gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for national liberation and reunification, pledging to honor their legacy through dedicated service to the nation.
“Special racks and securing straps were installed on the aircraft to ensure the samples were transported safely and smoothly, minimizing the impact of weather conditions. The samples will be transferred to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the Military Institute of Forensic Medicine for DNA analysis,” said Major General Nguyen Huy Tuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Air Defense-Air Force Service.
He noted that the Air Defense-Air Force Service will continue coordinating with agencies involved in the ongoing nationwide 500-day campaign to search for, recover, and identify martyrs’ remains, ensuring future transport missions are carried out promptly, efficiently, and with the utmost care.
This was the second flight organized by the Air Defense-Air Force Service to transport samples of martyrs’ remains from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi for DNA identification, following the transfer of more than 7,000 samples last month.
