The initiative also aims to promote Vietnamese musical heritage, particularly among young people. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huy Dung said, “Music is one of our 10 cultural industries. By launching this initiative, the Ministry wishes to empower everyone to create sounds and melodies inspired by their daily lives and love of work.”

“These works can then be shared with family and friends, ultimately building a digital sound archive of contemporary Vietnam and driving the development of our cultural industries,” Dung added.

The program features three activities hosted on its official digital platform. Vietnamese Sound Quiz is an online competition testing participants’ knowledge of Vietnamese melodies, songs, traditional instruments, and musical heritage.

Experiencing Vietnamese Sounds invites participants to submit short videos sharing their personal memories and perspectives on music.

Creating Vietnamese Sounds encourages original works incorporating music, voices, instruments, folk melodies, and everyday sounds, combined with images, video, animation, or other digital art forms.

The 2026 “Sounds of Vietnam, Melodies of Life” program is open to Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad, as well as foreign nationals interested in Vietnamese culture and music, regardless of age or occupation.

Submissions are open from October 12 to November 30, 2026. Final judging will take place after the submission deadline, with results and awards expected to be announced in December.
