At the opening ceremony of the Academy’s new academic year in Hanoi on Tuesday, PM Hung emphasized the need for the institution to move beyond the traditional transfer of knowledge and focus instead on building the capacity to address complex, interdisciplinary challenges and respond effectively to unprecedented situations.
“The Academy must continue improving its curricula and clarifying emerging issues related to thinking, objectives, methods and resources for national defence. The quality of training should be measured by the ability to solve strategic issues and apply knowledge in practice, particularly in policy formulation and decision-making,” he said.
The Prime Minister also urged the Academy to integrate defence and security requirements into the country’s socio-economic development strategies.
The National Defence Academy is Vietnam’s premier institution for training senior military officers and conducting research on military and defence affairs.
