The ceremony was attended by Politburo member and Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, who is also head of the Central Steering Committee for Vietnamese Cultural Development.
Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra recalled President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that a strong population makes a prosperous nation. She emphasized that a powerful country needs healthy citizens and that sustainable national development must be built on a healthy community.
She said every citizen should start with a simple choice: take up at least one sport suited to their age, health, and daily routine. Rather than striving for major achievements from the outset, people should focus on perseverance and choosing activities that suit them, helping spread the movement from individuals to families and the wider community.
