Nearly 1,500 sets of martyrs’ remains recovered after 4 months of 500-day campaign

[VOVWORLD] - After more than four months of implementation, the nationwide 500-day campaign to accelerate the search, recovery, and identification of martyrs’ remains had recovered nearly 1,500 sets of remains as of Saturday.

According to the National Steering Committee for the Search, Recovery, and Identification of Martyrs’ Remains, the recovered remains include 466 found in Vietnam, 174 in Laos, and 850 in Cambodia.

The campaign has also uncovered seven mass graves, including five in Tuyen Quang Province containing the remains of approximately 23 martyrs. At Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City, search teams discovered the remains of 103 individual martyrs and two collective burial sites.

Currently, 32 search and recovery teams comprising 1,541 personnel are participating in the campaign, including 13 teams operating in Vietnam and 19 teams carrying out missions in Laos and Cambodia.
