In a joint statement issued the same day, the leaders are committed to establishing new US-North Korea relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity.
The US and North Korea will work together to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. They commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified. Reaffirming the 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, North Korea commits to work towards complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
