“I live 100km from here. I prepared traditional outfits that showcase the cultural identity of my Ngoc Chien Commune. I embroidered them myself over the course of more than a year. This is my first time visiting Moc Chau, and I’ve made many new friends here. The Moc Chau market is bustling, and I’m very happy,” said Sung Thi Tong, a Mong woman from Son La Province.
As part of Moc Chau Culture and Tourism Week 2026, a range of activities are taking place, including the 2026 Son La International Brocade Festival.
Meanwhile, in Than Uyen, Lai Chau Province, this year’s National Day celebrations continue through Wednesday, featuring a series of cultural, sporting and tourism activities. They include the Ta Mung fair, a running event, a boat race on Than Uyen Lake and a fish-catching competition, along with cultural and culinary experiences and folk games.
“I was born and grew up in Than Uyen. Every National Day, I feel extremely excited. People flock to the town center, and it reminds me of those early days when we gained our liberation,” said a local resident.
Another Than Uyen native said, “Sharing in the festive atmosphere of National Day here in my hometown, we feel honored and proud to have been born and raised in a land that still preserves so many distinctive cultural traditions.”
This year, the Unity Xoe Dance at Than Uyen Commune Stadium is one of the highlights of the National Day celebrations, with around 2,500 local residents taking part.
