Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said the Film Festival is one of the city’s efforts to fulfill its commitments to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) after Ho Chi Minh City was recognized as a Creative City of Cinema in 2025.

Taking place until Monday, the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Short Film Festival is drawing more than 100 entries, including feature films, documentaries, and animated films from various provinces and cities.

Through the festival, Ho Chi Minh City aims to provide greater opportunities for young filmmakers to enhance their professional skills, expand international cooperation, and bring cinema closer to the public.
