Themed “Flavors of Pakistan,” the event showcased signature dishes through live cooking performances, allowing guests to watch chefs from Food Fusion, a renowned Pakistani culinary platform with millions of followers, prepare traditional cuisine on the spot.

Faiza Shafqat, Trade and Invested Attache, said, "Food is a way of communicating. You know, people connect on food. So we have selected the theme 'Flavors of Pakistan' as you will taste our food, you will connect with somebody.”

“If you have tried this, so you meet some Pakistani next time, you will tell them, 'Oh, I've tried your food'. So there's some point of connect. You find the common grounds to connect with people. So that's why we have selected this theme and we've invited the people and we've done this culinary diplomacy to share your story, to tell about your country through your food," Faiza Shafqat added.

Asad Memon, founder and CEO of Food Fusion, said, “Authentic Pakistani cuisine is more towards the method and balance of spices rather than use of spices. Those spices are used everywhere in the world. It is the sequence, the balance, and the quantity that makes what Pakistani cuisine is.”

“Also, there's one red pepper which is native to Pakistan and it's called the button chili, the lal mirch. We call it in Pakistan the lal mirch, which literally translates to red chili. And when you taste food with that chili, you can feel the taste and you can say that this is the Pakistani dish,” Asad Memon noted.

A similar event was also held last Saturday at Van Lake, part of the Temple of Literature, a national heritage site in Hanoi.
