Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico (concurrently accredited to Panama) Nguyen Van Hai.
According to Ambassador Hai, the visit holds special significance for the development of Vietnam-Panama relations. It marks the highest-level exchange between the two nations in nearly 15 years, following the 2012 visit by Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli, and takes place shortly after the milestone 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025.
Meanwhile, Panamanian Ambassador to Vietnam Nubiela Ayala Modes said the visit demonstrates Panama's growing regard for Vietnam as a key partner in Southeast Asia.
It is opening opportunities to strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade, maritime affairs, logistics investment, and people-to-people exchanges. The visit conveys a strong message of friendship and a shared commitment to building a closer and more dynamic bilateral relationship in the years ahead.
