(VOVworld) – Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong and State president Truong Tan Sang received Friday in Hanoi Cuba’s Party delegation led by Vice Chairman of Cuba’s State Council Salvador Valdes Mesa. The Vietnamese leaders praised Cuba’s achievements in updating its socio-economic model and external relations, considering them an important premise for Cuba’s future growth.

They said they believed the visit will contribute further to deepening friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and people. They also hoped that the Vietnam-Cuba intergovernmental committee will work out new cooperative mechanisms to foster bilateral cooperation.

Mr. Mesa affirmed Cuba’s determination to promote friendship and solidarity between the two countries. Earlier, the Cuban delegation held talks with a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Politburo member Le Hong Anh.
