Meeting with outstanding entrepreneurs in Hanoi Monday to mark Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13), General Secretary and President Lam emphasized the contributions of the business community in maintaining production, caring for workers, and joining hands to ensure social welfare.

Reviewing the socio-economic situation over the past nine months, he said the achievements reflect the efforts of the entire political system and the people, the Government's decisive leadership, and the vital contributions of enterprises and entrepreneurs.

The top leader acknowledged the difficulties faced by businesses and said “The State must fully resolve obstacles and rectify shortcomings within its purview, while enterprises must proactively innovate and strive for growth. Trust must be cultivated by both sides. The State protects legitimate rights and honors its commitments, while enterprises commit to long-term investment, legal compliance, and shared responsibility toward workers and the community.”

The General Secretary and President emphasized the need to enhance production capacity, master technologies, and develop human resources within enterprises. He stressed the need to strengthen linkages, expand market opportunities, and ensure fair competition for collective growth; and, notably, to leverage the role of entrepreneurs in building an independent, self-reliant economy integrated into the global landscape.

Mr. Lam noted that the 4th Plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee had adopted the "Regulation on Party members participating in investment and business activities." The Party encourages members to achieve legitimate prosperity while upholding the Party's character, fostering Party building in the non-state sector, and maintaining official integrity, he added.
