The Prime Minister made the remarks on Tuesday while receiving Jochen Schmittmann, outgoing Regional Resident Representative for the IMF Resident Offices in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and Fazurin Jamaludin, who will assume the position of IMF Resident Representative for Vietnam and Laos next month.
Mr. Hung expressed his hope that under Mr. Jamaludin’s tenure, the IMF office would continue to serve as an effective bridge for strengthening and expanding practical cooperation, maintaining regular policy dialogue, and providing substantive policy advice to support Vietnam’s rapid and sustainable growth.
Mr. Schmittmann praised Vietnam’s impressive economic performance, noting that the country has responded effectively to external shocks and carried out significant reforms in areas critical to long-term growth and development.
Incoming Resident Representative Jamaludin reaffirmed the IMF’s commitment to remaining a trusted partner of Vietnam and continuing to support the country’s development goals in the years ahead.
