At a reception in Hanoi on Monday, the Prime Minister acknowledged the investment activities of Luxembourgish enterprises in Vietnam. Although Luxembourg has relatively few projects in Vietnam, they represent substantial investment, particularly in information and communications, processing and manufacturing, he noted.

Vietnam will continue to refine its legal framework in line with international practices and ensure openness, transparency, and predictability to bolster the confidence of foreign investors.

Looking ahead, Prime Minister Hung proposed that both sides coordinate to optimize cooperation agreements, prioritizing sustainable finance, capital markets, fund management, fintech, capacity building and training, and the supervision of the finance-banking sector.

Efforts should also be made to strengthen capital flow between Luxembourg, Europe, and Vietnam. He urged Luxembourg to encourage investment funds, financial institutions, and enterprises to increase long-term capital allocation to Vietnam.

The PM sought Luxembourg's support for Vietnam in developing green financial instruments and mobilizing capital for the green transition and sustainable finance, as well as in developing an international financial center in Vietnam. He called on Luxembourg to continue encouraging remaining EU member states to ratify the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
