Addressing a meeting with the team in Hanoi on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said the championship demonstrated the team’s resilience, determination, and ambition to excel.
He said Vietnam’s youth football has shown its ability to control matches and secure convincing victories.
The Prime Minister said: “This important triumph is a source of pride for Vietnamese sports, conveying a powerful message about the Vietnamese people in a new stage of development, who are resilient, confident, disciplined, united and aspire to rise up."
Building on this success, the team need to maintain their belief, strengthen their momentum, and strive for even greater achievements to deserve to the trust and support of fans and people nationwide,” said Prime Minister Hung.
Looking ahead to the AFC U17 Championship, which serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U17 World Cup later in 2026, the Prime Minister called on the coaching staff and players to intensify training, uphold their determination to win, and compete with integrity and sportsmanship.
He also urged the Vietnam Football Federation to continue reforming and modernizing its training system while expanding international cooperation.
The Prime Minister said: “The Government and relevant agencies will continue to provide the best possible conditions for the development of Vietnamese sports and football in a more professional and modern direction, contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s international standing.”
