President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam were among the attendees. Poet Huu Thinh, Chairman of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations made recommendations on the draft law on association, a decree on State and Ho Chi Minh awards selection, and finance for the Union’s operation. Mr. Thinh also proposed that the Union contribute opinions to the compilation of textbooks on literature.
