Reunification must be based on principle of national independence: DPRK media

(VOVWORLD) - The future reunification of the two Koreas must be based on the principle of national independence and rejection of any outside interference, the Rodong Sinmun official media of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said on Monday.

In a commentary on the Panmunjom Declaration, signed by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in on April 27, the media said the protection of the principle of national independence is vital to the prospect of inter-Korean relations. It added that national reunification can never be achieved if one depends on outsiders.
