On Sunday, local farmers gathered with offerings and young rice seedlings to take part in a ceremony honoring the God of Agriculture. Following an incense offering ritual, the first seedlings of the new rice crop were planted. The festival is an occasion for local people to pray for favorable weather and abundant harvests, while honoring their ancestors and strengthening community bonds.
“We are committed to preserving the Rice Planting Festival, which has been passed down through generations. People always look forward to the event, and even those living far from home return to take part,” said local resident Le Thi Gai.
The festival also featured rice-planting and boat-racing competitions for both men and women.

The Rice Planting Festival of the Ha Nam community is held annually in the sixth lunar month. It was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024.
