President Vladimir Putin will decide who leads the Russian delegation to the trilateral talks on Ukraine, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said, adding that the parties have not yet agreed on a proposal package, as each is pursuing its own priority objectives.
Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and Turkey were discussed as possible venues for the talks. "Abu Dhabi was discussed as an option," he said. "There are other [options]. Turkey is also offering its services," he stated, noting that other countries had also offered to host the talks.
Mr. Ushakov emphasized that much work remains to be done to achieve a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine issue.
In an interview published on September 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed a willingness to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit, scheduled to take place in Miami (USA) in December.
However, speaking to Western media shortly thereafter, the Kremlin spokesman dismissed this possibility, reiterating Moscow's stance that such a meeting could only take place in the Russian capital.
