The announcement was made by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday ahead of a visit by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo next week when leaders of the two countries will discuss bilateral relations, the situations in Venezuela, Syria, and Ukraine, and other world affairs.
Russia will do its best to ensure national security amid rising threats from the US, the Ministry said, adding that Moscow will not focus on side-tracks but seek to resolve current differences in the hope of closer ties. Moscow is ready to develop a more constructive relationship with Washington based on equality and respect for one another’s interests.
